Woman wins $3M from scratch-off plans to take sick husband to Alaska

A Pennsylvania couple who has faced numerous challenges can finally realize their long-held dream of visiting Alaska, thanks to their incredible $3 million win in a state lottery game.

Penny Reep, aged 50, struck gold with a scratch-off ticket, intending to fulfill her husband's aspirations, especially after his cancer diagnosis.

She purchased a "$3 Million Diamonds and Gold" Pennsylvania instant game ticket for $30 at Rummy Mart on South Main Street in Chicora.

Reep shared her exhilarating experience, saying, "I scratched the $30 ticket and thought, 'I'm not seeing this right.'

When I scanned it, it said, 'Congratulations, you won $3 million.' I grabbed the counter and started crying. I had chest pain, and it felt like my feet were coming out from underneath me."

Overwhelmed with emotion, Reep confirmed her win on October 16. On October 19, she visited the Pennsylvania Lottery to claim her $3 million prize, a timely relief as her husband battles a rare and incurable form of cancer, rendering him unable to work.

The prize money will not only provide essential support but also turn her husband's dream of visiting Alaska into a reality.

The couple plans to continue living in their home and wisely invest the money. Additionally, the retailer, Rummy Mart, which sold the winning ticket, will receive a $10,000 bonus from the Lottery.
